The Federal District Court proceedings in the lawsuit brought by the State of Illinois and City of Chicago against the Trump administration and its officials are proceeding today before Judge April Perry in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Before the Court today, October 9, 2025, is the Motion brought by the Plaintiffs for the entry of a TRO, or Temporary Restraining Order, seeking to bar the Defendants from sending National Guard troops from Illinois and Texas to the City of Chicago.
